My favorite barista turned me on to the charms of the Cortado. Made with a high quality espresso and milk, and partnered with sparkling water and espresso bean, this sophisticated beverage gives me the right amount of jolt to get through the afternoon.
- 1-2 oz. steamed 2% milk
- 2 oz. espresso
- 4 oz. sparkling water
- 1 espresso bean
- 1 Flox 'Tiger' Coaster
Pour the milk into a stainless steel pitcher. Place the pitcher under the steam wand, with the wand touching the bottom of the pitcher. Turn the steam wand on, and move it so that it is just below the surface of the milk. Heat until it is steamed, but not foamy. Meanwhile, prepare your espresso and pour into the glass. Added the steamed milk to taste (between 1 and 2 oz.) Serve drink with sparkling water and an espresso bean for maximum effect. Buon Appetito!
